Investing in the Next 90
In 2021, Berkeley Lab will support five non-profit STEM organizations to help prepare young scholars to become tomorrow’s leaders and problem solvers.
Berkeley Lab will provide institutional donations and offer opportunities for employees to volunteer & donate. We’ll highlight these organizations during the 90th anniversary campaign.
In 2014, Founder and Executive Director, Adamaka Ajaelo established Self e-STEM to provide STEM literacy, leadership, and technical training for young women in untapped communities. The organization is based in Oakland and provides a one-week summer camp, weekend STEM club, and an after-school FIRST Robotics program for scholars ages 7-17. Beyond traditional STEM experiences, the organization focuses on building the skills, confidence, and resilience needed to be successful in the STEM workforce.
