Do you have a fond recollection of Berkeley Lab? Has our science impacted you in some way? Be it a monumental event or something more nuanced, you are invited to share your memories or thoughts below.
I spent with the expectation of a short break, I was the Laser Safety Officer for the lab for almost 20 years. I consider it the outstanding experience of my professional life. While I had some involvement with many outstanding projects, BELLA, Human Genome, Spallation Neutron Source, Mentoring of students and so many others, it was the interaction with the lab community that I treasure the most. From Noble Prize winners to grad students, to craft staff to housekeeping. Many who I felt lucky to call friends. It was the two way respect that I found so rare from what I observe in many other work environments. Wishing the Lab many more years of success.
I have really fond memories of the Open House events. My kids just loved them. I also liked the Science at the Theater series. Always so fascinating to hear what kind of research is taking place at Berkeley Lab.
